One of the noteworthy decisions is the approval of 14 new merit-cum-means scholarships, aimed at providing financial assistance to deserving students. These scholarships, established under the university's PRATIDANA initiative, reflect BHU's commitment to ensuring access to quality education for all. Additionally, the council introduced the prestigious Akshaibar & Jogeshwari Giri Gold Medal, earmarked for outstanding second-year MBA students starting from the academic session 2023-24.

Underlining its dedication to nurturing talent from a young age, the council sanctioned the establishment of a merit-cum-means scholarship specifically for the Central Hindu Girls School. The Awadh Raj Kumar Scholarship, designated for a class 9 student, will come into effect from the 2024-25 session, providing invaluable support to meritorious students from diverse backgrounds.

Furthermore, BHU is set to enhance its academic and research ecosystem with the formation of a Project Monitoring Unit. Spearheaded by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain, this initiative aims to address issues that impede teaching and learning activities. Initially focusing on the faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, the unit will gradually expand its scope to encompass other disciplines, ensuring a conducive environment for academic growth and innovation.

In a bid to enrich its academic landscape, BHU has approved the addition of new programs and courses to its affiliated colleges, catering to the evolving needs of students and industries alike. This proactive approach underscores BHU's commitment to staying abreast of emerging trends and equipping students with relevant skills for the future.

Moreover, the council welcomed ten distinguished academicians as external members, bringing a wealth of expertise and insights to the university's governance. These luminaries, including Prof. M M Chaturvedi, Prof. Prithvish Nag, Prof. Manisha Proyam, and others, will contribute to BHU's academic endeavors, further elevating its reputation as a hub of intellectual excellence.
