Shimla: The District Table Tennis Association is organizing a two-day Inter-School Table Tennis competition, where nearly a hundred players from nine schools in Shimla city are participating. Under the supervision of the association's secretary, Abhay Lakhnpal, and other officials, the competition kicked off with intense matches on the first day. In the Under-13 category, DAV New Shimla emerged as the winner, with BCS securing the runner-up position. Shimla Public School claimed the third spot. In the Under-15 boys' category, DAV New Shimla clinched the title, with Kendriya Vidyalaya Jatog as the runner-up, while BCS and Shimla Public School jointly secured the third position.
In the individual matches, in the semi-finals of the Under-11 girls' category, Naysha defeated Aaryana Sood, while Himanya Kashyap overcame Sanvi Sood. In the quarter-finals of the Under-11 boys' category, Advay Bramta defeated Adwitya Sharma, Ripunjay P Singh defeated Shaurya Kaushal, Ishant defeated Rajveer Singh, and Arav Gupta defeated Vihan Mehta, securing their spots in the next round. In the quarter-finals of the Under-13 girls' category, Adhya Dwivedi defeated Sangvi, Naysha defeated Tanvi, Adivika defeated Himanya Kashyap, and Mihika Dogra defeated Geetanjali, advancing to the next round.
The competition will conclude on Sunday, with MP Sood, the District President, participating as the chief guest to felicitate the winners.
