Unlocking BHU's New Era: 4-Year Graduation Program Unveiled

Exciting news from BHU! Significant changes are on the horizon as the Bachelor's degree courses at Banaras Hindu University undergo a transformation starting from the academic session 2024-25. BHU's Four-Year Graduation Program:
In BHU admission 2024, major changes are being implemented. If you've filled out the form for the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) and have BHU on your list of preferred universities, this news is essential for you. Banaras Hindu University will introduce a four-year graduation degree program starting from the academic session 2024-25. This program will include two types of Bachelor's programs: Honors and Honors with Research. These changes are in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Direct Entry to Ph.D. after Graduation:
Students completing the "Honors with Research" program at Banaras Hindu University will have the opportunity for direct entry into a Ph.D. program. They will not be required to pursue a separate Master's degree course. Additionally, students in the proposed program will have the option to choose minor courses in various subjects. For all undergraduate students, the following will now be mandatory:
- Interdisciplinary Curriculum (Multidisciplinary Course)
- Skill Enhancement Program (Skill Enhancement Course)
- Capacity Enhancement Program (Ability Enhancement Course)
- Value Added Program (Value Added Course)
- Internship
Students opting for Honors with Research will also be required to write a dissertation in their final semester.

BHU Admissions: No Changes in Law Faculty and Special Courses:
Amidst these changes, there have been no alterations to the 5-year BA LLB program in BHU's Law Faculty. This is because such specialized programs fall under a distinct category. Similarly, skill development vocational courses ongoing at BHU's South Campus, regulated by specific regulatory bodies, will continue unaffected as they fall outside the purview of the National Education Policy.

BHU Hostel: Mandatory 70% Attendance:
If you aspire to reside in BHU's hostels, maintaining a 70% attendance record is now mandatory. The University Council has approved this proposal. In the coming years, hostel accommodation will be provided only to those students who maintain a minimum attendance of 70% in their classes.
