Exploring the Skies: Varanasi's Aerial Survey for Urban Development

In recent days, the sight of airplanes soaring at low altitudes has sparked curiosity among the residents of Varanasi. As part of the Smart City initiative, aerial surveys are being conducted to chart the course of the city's development. Alongside, ground-level surveys are also underway, with backpack-wearing workers traversing the streets and alleys. Through these efforts, Varanasi's 3D urban special twin map will be crafted.

Under the Varanasi Smart City project, extensive 3D surveys are ongoing to develop a digital twin map of the city's urban spaces. This endeavor involves aerial surveys conducted by special aircraft, along with ground-level surveys facilitated by four-wheeled vehicles and backpack walkers navigating the city's lanes. Within the ambit of the Varanasi Smart City project, the aerial survey spans over 70 square kilometers, covering vast expanses of the city.
