Celebrating Diversity in Fashion: Campbell Addy to Receive Prestigious Isabella Blow Award at The Fashion Awards 2023

The British Fashion Council (BFC) is set to shine a spotlight on the trailblazing talent of British-Ghanaian photographer and director, Campbell Addy, at The Fashion Awards 2023. Addy has been chosen as the recipient of the esteemed Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, acknowledging his remarkable contributions to the realms of fashion, photography, and culture.

A product of London's renowned Central Saint Martins, Addy has carved a distinctive niche by eloquently representing Black and queer perspectives through his evocative imagery. His photography and creative direction have graced the pages of influential publications such as Dazed, i-D, Rolling Stone Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and Vogue. Addy's artistic footprint extends globally, with exhibitions showcasing his work in galleries around the world.

Beyond his lens, Addy has championed emerging Black photographers through the establishment of Nii Journal in 2016, a publication dedicated to providing a platform for rising talents. Complementing this, he founded Nii Agency, a modeling agency committed to amplifying diverse voices within the industry.

Caroline Rush, BFC Chief Executive, lauded Addy as a "world-leading visionary" dedicated to spotlighting underrepresented voices. She emphasized his transformative impact on beauty and style perceptions, bringing diversity and inclusion to the forefront of the fashion landscape.

In expressing his gratitude for the Isabella Blow Award, Addy stated, "Receiving this award is a humbling and honoring moment. I am overjoyed to be considered amongst the class of such amazing creatives that have come before me." He emphasized the imperative nature of a constantly evolving industry and sees this award as a symbol of a bright future for fashion.

Scheduled for Monday, December 4, The Fashion Awards 2023, presented by Pandora, serves as the principal fundraiser for the BFC Foundation.
