Yadav Community's Jalabhishek Ritual

On July 22, the first Monday of Sawan, 21 members of the Yadav community will be granted the privilege to perform Jalabhishek (the ritual pouring of water) on the Shivalinga at Kashi Vishwanath Temple. These devotees will enter the temple accompanied by traditional drummers, entering through the western gate and proceeding to the sanctum sanctorum. This ritual, organized by the Govardhan Puja Committee and the Chandravanshi Gop Seva Samiti, has been a part of the temple's history for hundreds of years.

Comprehensive Security Measures

In anticipation of large crowds, stringent security measures have been put in place. Approximately 2500 security personnel, including CISF and PAC forces, will be deployed to ensure the safety of devotees. Additionally, intelligence teams and plainclothes police officers will be stationed throughout the temple complex. Surveillance will be enhanced with the use of drones and around 150 CCTV cameras to monitor the area and deter any potential issues.
