Empowering Students with Smartphones: A Step towards Digital Inclusion

Varanasi, the spiritual heart of India, resonates with the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and the intellectual fervor of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. In line with this ethos, the Uttar Pradesh government, under the aegis of the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, has embarked on a mission to bridge the digital divide among students. As part of this initiative, students from Kashi Vishwavidyalaya (Varanasi University) have been enlisted in the Smartphone/Tablet Distribution Scheme.

For those students who were unable to procure smartphones, fret not, for help is on its way. On March 9th, a distribution drive will be held to ensure that every eligible student receives the tools they need to thrive in the digital age.

The administration has diligently provided all the necessary information on the university's website, making it easily accessible to all stakeholders. Students can collect their smartphones from the designated counter at the underground level of Administrative Building-1 starting at 11:00 AM.

Under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, the state government has already distributed smartphones to students of Kashi Vishwavidyalaya on February 19th, 22nd, 26th, and 28th, 2024, marking significant progress in the journey towards digital empowerment.

This initiative not only provides students with the means to access educational resources but also fosters inclusivity, ensuring that no student is left behind in the digital revolution. As Varanasi continues to evolve as a center of knowledge and innovation, initiatives like these reaffirm its commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, grounded in the principles of accessibility and equality.
